Technical Service Bulletin:
Affected vehicles: 2019+ GM 6.6L diesel trucks.
Issue : Fuel gauge drops to empty after Initial Install and during normal operation.
Explanation: GM trucks have the ability through programming and monitoring to know exactly how much fuel is in the tank, as well as fuel consumption based on miles driven and fuel economy. Any large capacity fuel tank causes the float to move slower than the computer thinks is acceptable. When the computer sees this, it will run a system check and drop the fuel gauge to empty. When the fuel level comes off full, the gauge should return to the correction position after restarting the vehicle.
Solution: Although Titan was told early on that trucks have fixed themselves after several tanks of fuel when following a specific process, Titan is no longer able to confirm this or any other permanent fix for this issue. If this is a concern for you, they recommend using an aftermarket digital monitor to confirm accurate fuel level when this occurs.

The Truth About Fuel Capacity
Fuel capacities shown for each and every Titan Fuel Tank are not a claim: it is fact, they show the usable capacity for every tank!
In fact, the tanks are larger than their usable capacity. Usable fuel capacity is the portion of the tank that can safely hold fuel and allows the fuel to be picked up by the sending unit.
For example, the 7020217 tank for the 2017+ Ford Crew Cab, Short Bed trucks is marketed as a 55 gallon tank. Could it hold more? Yes! Another 5 gallons of capacity exists in the tank, but that capacity is not usable. This 5 gallon area above the filler neck is for expansion/vapor headspace to dissipate the pressure changes in the tank due to temperature and elevation changes. Titan choose to not mislead customers and market only the usable capacity, 55 gallons.
Titan chose to only market usable capacity to set honest and reasonable expectations for customers.
Distance Till Empty and Similar Information
Many trucks now come pre-programed with the capacity of the Original Equipment Manufacturers’ (OEM) fuel tank. Replacing the OEM tank with any extra-large capacity, direct replacement tank will result in the distance to empty information being incorrect. This information may be corrected on many trucks.
-2017+ Fords: Customers may use ForScan, a program designed for Ford trucks that allows the computer to be adjusted for the capacity of a TITAN Fuel Tank.
-2011-2016 Fords: Ford dealers can adjust the customer’s capacity using their Ford Motor Company software. These trucks are also compatible with ForScan.
-2019+ Dodge RAMs: Customers may use Alfa OBD, a program designed for RAM trucks that allows the computer to be adjusted for the capacity of a TITAN Fuel Tank.
Such solutions are entirely independent of, and not guaranteed by TITAN Fuel Tanks™.
